2069 Ecosystem

GOT 3.JPG

Welcome to the 2069 Ecosystem

The current challenges humanity is facing are systemic and generational. As climate change, inequality, polarization, and existential risks (from AI-nuclear-biotech) accelerate exponentially, we need to respond from an entirely different context and mindset.

The 2069 ecosystem is a collective of leaders and projects that are creating a field to respond to the meta crisis and its emergent challenges.

In a world of quick fixes and short-term reactive solutions, we are committing to a 50-year vision for another society. In a world of organisations and projects, we are responding with a loose collective. And while the current system runs in plan-execute-scale models, we are building a sense-respond-emerge approach.

Our Vision

Our longer-term vision is to birth a vision for a new society where citizens are empowered and responding collectively to the crisis of our times.

On the way to this, we will build a network of 1000 ecosystem leaders by 2039. This network of leaders would have

  • a shared vision and understanding of our times,

  • a rich relational field that can co-sense and

  • willingness to act in synergy across organisational boundaries

Such a collective will play a decisive role in the direction of the country and make a meaningful contribution to the world.
After two editions in 2019 and 2020, we went into a pause and decided to integrate the political space into our spiritual and social work leading to the birth of SSPM (Spiritual Socio Political Movement).
Over the last year we experimented with SSPM Saathi, a fellowship for on ground action to build active citizenship.

Our History

We started with conversations about our vision for the society in 2014. On the fringes of agenda-filled meetings of objective centred collectives, we realised that this approach itself is a part of the problem. We realised the need to build a shared context and a relational field first.

From 2015-17 we did a series of gatherings called “Artivist Ashrams” which brought together 10-12 people for 100 hours over 6 days to deep dive into our worldviews and personal spaces. This slowly built a field of relationships that was aligned and willing to connect.

This moved to larger gatherings in 2018 (The Gathering of the Tribe) and eventually led to a commitment to a 50 year vision, with the launch of 2069: The Youth Fest!

Our Design Principles

Building a relational field: deepening our relationships to a point that new energies and consciousness can land in our collective space

Collective leadership: instead of a single leader, to tap into the wisdom of the collective along with decision making with full consent

To respond to the current crisis, we have to respond from an entirely different context and principles. Some of the core design principles we live by are

These design principles position us to respond to the emerging future that is unknowable and complex.

These design principles position us to respond to the emerging future that is unknowable and complex.

Role of money: not being only outcome-driven fuelled by traditional philanthropy but exploring post capitalist approaches and volunteer energy

Designing for the long future (2069): we have a 15 year vision to be a network of up to 1000 leaders and a relational field for 50 year

Experimenting and working with emergence: rather than planning a pathway, we are building agility to respond to the uncertain and emerging context

Currently the space is held by Stewards who are responsible for anchoring the collective on a day-to-day basis. They are

  • Mohit Trivedi

  • Abhishek Thakore

  • Bhumika Bhandari

  • Navendu Mishra

Our Organizers

Our Current Project : SSPM Saathi

The Saathi journey is a fellowship for 27 individuals across 7 locations in Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh.

It involves grass-root experiments that help us understand the narratives, the realities and build leaders who will eventually be a part of our ecosystem

The Saathi journey will close by September 2024 paving way for the next phase of the journey.

After this is a group of Firekeepers (8-10) who are regularly involved in specific aspects and policy decisions.

The Active Contributor circles (20-30) is the larger circle that joins on a specific event or project.

Finally there is the larger ecosystem (of about 150 people) who are associated and support this work.

All these roles are voluntary in capacity and have no financial compensation.

The 2069 ecosystem so far has been funded through our own time and money. We haven’t yet formally had donors. At this stage now, we see the value and need for financial capital to be brought into the system.

By supporting us, you would support

  • A radically new approach to responding to the metacrisis that is located in a cultural context

  • A relational field that can co-ordinate and respond beyond a “one organisation” boundary

  • The creation of a fresh new vision and an ideology that evokes the interconnectedness of us to each other and the whole

  • A network of experienced ecosystem leaders who have the understanding and influence to create onground impact

  • The group wisdom that comes from co-sensing the emerging present and the raw material it creates for forming narratives and shaping action

We are looking for donors with a post-capitalist lens who see the limitations of the current paradigm and are willing to support transistions. We hope to build deep relationships and co-creation with our donors.

Why support us

While we do not believe in outcome-centric impact-only oriented work, the impact of our work has rippled into several spaces. This includes

  • Over 100 ecosystem leaders being a part of Artivist Ashrams and connecting deeply around a set of shared values and direction

  • Over 200 leaders attending 2069, being oriented to the big-picture and aligned to the relational field

  • An ideological foundation that integrates Indic Centrism, Constitution and Post Activism in an ongoing dialogue to form a new vision for the world

  • A journey with 27 fellows (Saathis) creating on-ground action in 7 locations mobilizing citizens and engaging in local action

Overall, we are on our way to building a field of relationships that is aware of the current context, willing to act on it and committed to doing it together.

Our Impact

In conclusion, a radically new society needs a radically different response. The 2069 ecosystem is one such response that dares to stand outside the existing frames and forge a new pathway.
